Key Goals:

Visit Abilene is one of the DMOs who has received and is using CARES Act funds. With very limited resources, this grant would definitely be a big help towards the recovery of their county. Due to Covid19’s effect on the tourism industry, Visit Abilene is now looking for new digital options as their visitor center will be closed and may not reopen. Here’s some of Visit Abilene’s vision for the ‘New Normal’:

  • Provide 24×7 information access utilizing outdoor kiosk directly in front of the visitor center
  • Ensure all local information, interactive mapping,itinerary suggestions
  • Easy share from Kiosk to Email and Text
  • Display real-time upcoming events, contact information
  • Share visitors what’s nearby – shops, dining options, attractions, and more
  • Give visitors suggested itineraries or the option to build their own
  • Ensure better data and information on visitors using the kiosk to share with stakeholders
  • Provide integrated UGC social media channels to connect destination and visitor

Solution:

OMNIEXPERIENCE provided a 49’ Outdoor interactive Kiosk with full branding for the destination. Integrating existing CRM and CMS systems to automatic content and event updates while ensuring easy sharing of local business listings through mobile. This solution will work 24×7 365 and can be used while the visitor center is close or if and when it opens. Future use of video conferencing and expanding the solution to local attractions was considered as Phase II. Here are some of the functionalities deployed in accordance with Visit Abilene’s goals:
